Day 01

Marangu Gate Hike to Mandara Hut and Maundi Crater

• Leave Arusha early in the morning and depart for Marangu Gate.
• After completing gate registration, begin your Kilimanjaro day hike, walking along a narrow trail through the rainforest up to Mandara Hut.
• Along the way, meet mountain climbers descending from the top.
• At Mandara Hut, have lunch and, if you wish, take a short walk to Maundi Crater. On a clear day, the views to the east over Taveta and to the northwest to Mawenzi Peak are stunning, making the short hike well worth the effort.
• At Maundi Crater, you will have the opportunity to take photos before descending to Marangu Gate.
• Our vehicles will be waiting at Marangu Gate to take you back to Moshi.

• This tour starts and ends in Arusha.
• The operator can help you select your international or domestic flights, but you must book them yourself.
• Fly to or from Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO - check price) near Arusha. Alternatively, fly to or from Arusha Airport (ARK - check price) via Dar es Salaam or Nairobi, Kenya.
• A transfer to and from the airport is included.
• Additional accommodation before and at the end of the tour can be arranged at an extra cost.
