Tirana Landmarks, Adriatic Swim, and Evening in the Block

  • 9:00 AM

    • Visit the centre of Tirana, the capital of Albania, starting from Skanderbeg Square, the architectural ensemble of the Ministries of Tirana, and the famous Pyramid, the former museum of Europe's greatest dictator, Enver Hoxha.

    • There will be panoramic opportunities to explore the capital and see buildings erected before and after the Italian occupation in 1939 in the Old Market area.

    • Enjoy a tour and tasting of traditional Albanian food, as it used to be during communism: bread, beef and pork meatballs, or other traditional dishes.

    • End with coffee and traditional brandy while looking out over old villas from the 1925-1935 period, still standing amid a metropolis of unusual architectural buildings painted with colours and graffiti.

  • 12:00 PM

    • Afterwards, go for a swim in the Adriatic Sea. Along the way, explore old alleys and visit one of Albania's most ancient cities, 36 km from Tirana, travelling by public transport (bus line) provided by the guide.

  • 5:00 PM

    • Return to the centre of Tirana, where you can enjoy the late afternoon and evening in the Block area. Once restricted to the villas of former communist leaders, this district is now filled with luxury bars and restaurants. It is also linked to the famous song "Tirona" by West Side Family, featuring the current Prime Minister, Edi Rama.

  • 8:00 PM

    • There will be local beer, or traditional craft beer, offered by the guide, and you will have the opportunity to talk with residents, colleagues, and the guide's friends in Tirana.
