Day 02

Explore Historic Tabuk Castle

  • The castle consists of two floors. The ground floor contains an open courtyard and several rooms opening onto it from the north and south sides, including eight rooms, a mosque, and a well. Stairs lead to the first floor, which has an open mosque and additional rooms, as well as stairways leading to the towers used for guarding and monitoring. The lower mosque rises on the southern side, and there are also 12 rooms on the northern and western sides. A stone gutter on the western side overlooking the courtyard drains water from the first floor. It is also noted that there are archers' trenches on all sides. There are three staircases: two leading to the towers, one on the northwestern side and the other on the southwestern side. They are built of mud bricks and were used for guarding and placing cannons that were fired to celebrate the arrival of pilgrims. The third staircase leads to the area of the second, open upper floor.

Day 03

Visit Ain al-Sukkar

  • Ain Al-Sukkar in Tabuk is the oldest spring in the region. It carries a history of giving, as it is one of the most important historical and archaeological sites. Ain Al-Sukkar gained its importance from the Prophet's (PBUH) arrival there in the ninth year of Hijra, when he drank from it and used it for ablution during the Battle of Tabuk. He washed his hands and noble face there, and then returned to it. The spring gushed forth abundant water from which people drew water. Then the Prophet (PBUH) said to his companion Muadh: "Soon, Muadh, if you live long enough, you will see what is here filled with gardens."

Day 04

Discover Masjid at-Tawba

  • The mosque is one of the most prominent landmarks of Tabuk and one of its most famous mosques. It gained its status because it represents an important historical stage connected to the Battle of Tabuk and the Army of Difficulty that the Prophet Muhammad prepared in the year 9 AH to meet the Roman army. According to historical references, the mosque dates back to the Battle of Tabuk, when the Prophet Muhammad resolved in the ninth year of the Hijra to meet the Roman army and prepared the Army of Difficulty. When the army led by the Prophet arrived in the Tabuk region, precisely where the mosque was located, it stayed for about 20 nights, and no one from the Roman army came to them. The Prophet then began to receive delegations to reconcile and pay tribute, and he took the Mosque of Repentance as his place, where he performed prayers for about ten nights.

Day 05

Explore the Bedouin Market

  • The former public market, also known as Prince Fahd bin Sultan Street Market, has been the nucleus of commercial activity in Tabuk City since ancient times, and its roots extend back more than 500 years. It was a seasonal market for pilgrims who passed through the city.

Day 06

Visit Tabuk Station and the Hijaz Railway

  • It is a narrow-gauge railway (1050 mm wide) connecting Damascus and Medina, established to serve Muslim pilgrims. Work on the railway began in 1900 AD, and it opened in 1908 AD. It continued to operate until the line was destroyed in 1916 AD during World War I, as the Great Arab Revolt and the fall of the Ottoman Empire after the war led to its sabotage. The Hejaz-Tabuk Railway Station is located in an area of more than 80 thousand square meters, and 13 buildings have recently been renovated, including a handicraft center, a workshop, a structure carrying a freight car, a locomotive, and many interesting Ottoman artifacts.
