Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arusha to Machame Gate (2,040 meters)

   • Depart Arusha and drive to Machame Gate, the starting point of your climb.
   • Register with park authorities and begin your ascent through lush rainforest.
   • Camp at Machame Camp (3,000 meters).

2. Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp (3,700 meters)

   • Continue your ascent through the rainforest, gradually gaining altitude.
   • Emerge from the rainforest and enter the heather zone.
   • Camp at Shira Camp, offering panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.

3. Day 3: Shira Camp to Lava Tower (4,640 meters)

   • Hike through the alpine desert, passing by Shira Plateau.
   • Reach Lava Tower, a volcanic formation with stunning views.
   • Descend to Barranco Camp (3,900 meters).

4. Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (4,000 meters)

   • Ascend to Barranco Wall, a challenging section of the climb.
   • Traverse the Great Barranco Valley, offering breathtaking views.
   • Camp at Karanga Camp, surrounded by alpine landscapes.

5. Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,673 meters)

   • Continue your ascent, reaching the alpine desert zone.
   • Arrive at Barafu Camp, your final acclimatization camp before the summit push.

6. Day 6: Barafu Camp to Summit (5,895 meters) - Descent to Mwema Camp (3,200 meters)

   • Begin your summit push at midnight, climbing through the dark.
   • Reach the summit of Kilimanjaro at dawn, experiencing the incredible sunrise.
   • Descend to Mwema Camp, enjoying the satisfaction of your achievement.
