Itinerary

1. Day 1: Tarangire National Park

   • Begin your adventure with an early departure from Arusha, heading to Tarangire National Park. Renowned for its ancient baobab trees and large herds of elephants, the park offers a unique introduction to Tanzania’s wildlife.
   • Spend the day exploring the park’s diverse landscapes, from rolling savannahs to riverine forests. Alongside elephants, watch for wildebeest, zebras, and predators like lions and leopards. The Tarangire River is a vital water source, attracting various animals, especially during the dry season.
   • After a full day of game drives, enjoy a peaceful evening at a lodge or tented camp within or near the park, soaking in the natural beauty of your surroundings.

2. Day 2: Serengeti National Park (Central)

   • After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to the Central Serengeti, one of Africa’s most famous wildlife destinations. The vast open plains offer endless opportunities to spot the "Big Five"—lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos.
   • Spend your day on game drives, witnessing the remarkable predator-prey interactions that define the Serengeti ecosystem. During certain months, the Central Serengeti is also a prime location to observe the Great Migration, with thousands of wildebeests and zebras moving across the landscape in search of fresh grazing lands.

3. Day 3: Serengeti National Park (Northern)

   • Venture deeper into the Serengeti, heading towards the Northern Serengeti. This area is known for its dramatic landscapes and is a key crossing point for the Great Migration.
   • Depending on the time of year, you may witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of wildebeest braving the Mara River, where crocodiles lie in wait. Even outside of the migration season, the Northern Serengeti is rich in wildlife, with predators like cheetahs and hyenas frequently seen in pursuit of prey.
   • Spend your day exploring the rugged terrain and taking in the raw beauty of this remote area before retiring to your accommodation for a night under the stars.

4. Day 4: Serengeti National Park (Northern to Central)

   • Continue your exploration of the Serengeti with a day that transitions from the Northern Serengeti back to the Central Serengeti.
   • Enjoy morning game drives in the northern region, where you may encounter some of the park’s more elusive species, such as the critically endangered black rhino.
   • As you go south, immerse yourself in the changing landscapes, from woodlands to vast grasslands, each teeming with wildlife.
   • Along the way, you will have opportunities to see diverse animal behaviours, from hunting predators to playful primates.
   • Arrive at your central Serengeti camp or lodge in the late afternoon for a relaxing evening.

5. Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

   • Depart from the Serengeti and journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a geological wonder that offers a microcosm of East Africa’s wildlife.
   • Descend into the crater for a day of unforgettable game viewing. The crater’s floor hosts a variety of habitats, from freshwater lakes to acacia woodlands, supporting a wide range of species, including the rare black rhino, lions, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras.
   • Enjoy a picnic lunch by one of the crater’s lakes before continuing your exploration.

6. Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

   • On your final day, head to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but incredibly diverse park at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions and flamingo-lined shores and provides a beautiful conclusion to your safari.
   • Embark on a morning game drive to explore the park’s varied habitats, from groundwater forests to open savannah. Birdwatchers will delight in the abundance of bird species while large troops of baboons and graceful giraffes roam the landscape.
   • After a leisurely picnic lunch, begin your journey back to Arusha. Arrive in the late afternoon with memories of an unforgettable safari experience.
