Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you'll be greeted by a representative who will transfer you to your hotel. Spend the day relaxing and adjusting to the time zone. Explore the vibrant streets of Thamel, a popular tourist area known for its shops, restaurants, and lively atmosphere. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Nepali dinner and get a good night's rest in preparation for your trek.
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Tour and Trek Preparation
Start your day with a guided tour of Kathmandu Valley. Visit iconic sites including:
- Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple): Perched on a hilltop, offering panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley.
- Pashupatinath Temple: A major Hindu pilgrimage site on the banks of the Bagmati River.
- Boudhanath Stupa: One of the largest stupas in Nepal, a center of Tibetan Buddhism.
Return to your hotel in the afternoon to meet your trekking guide and review the trek itinerary. Ensure that you have all necessary gear and permits. Spend the evening finalizing preparations and resting.
Day 03: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding
Early in the morning, take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a thrilling journey with stunning views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival, start your trek to Phakding. The trail descends through lush forests and picturesque villages, following the Dudh Koshi River. Enjoy the serene surroundings and the first glimpses of the Himalayan landscape. Arrive in Phakding and settle into a local teahouse.
Day 04: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Today’s trek involves a steady ascent from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. The trail crosses several suspension bridges and passes through charming Sherpa villages. As you climb, you’ll get your first breathtaking views of Everest and other peaks. Arriving in Namche Bazaar, the vibrant hub of the Khumbu region, you'll find plenty of shops, cafes, and local markets. Spend the night in a comfortable teahouse.
Day 05: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
To aid acclimatization, explore Namche Bazaar today. Visit local attractions such as the Sherpa Museum and Namche Monastery. Hike up to the Everest View Hotel for panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. This day is crucial for adjusting to the altitude and preparing for higher elevations. Return to Namche in the afternoon to relax and enjoy the town’s vibrant atmosphere.
Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
Begin your trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche, passing through beautiful pine forests and crossing the Dudh Koshi River. The trail offers stunning views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other peaks. In Tengboche, visit the renowned Tengboche Monastery, an important spiritual center for the Sherpa community. Enjoy the tranquil surroundings and the breathtaking views from this high-altitude location.
Day 07: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche
Today’s trek takes you from Tengboche to Dingboche. As you walk, the landscape becomes more rugged and barren, with expansive views of the Himalayas. The trail passes through the village of Pangboche and continues upward, offering spectacular vistas of Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu. Arrive in Dingboche, a small village nestled in a picturesque valley, and rest in a cozy teahouse.
Day 08: Acclimatization Hike to Nangkartshang Hill
To aid acclimatization, take a day hike to Nangkartshang Hill. This trek offers excellent views of the surrounding mountains, including the impressive peaks of Ama Dablam and Makalu. The hike provides an opportunity to enjoy the high-altitude landscape and allow your body to adjust to the increasing elevation. Return to Dingboche in the afternoon to relax and prepare for the next leg of your journey.
Day 09: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche
Today’s trek takes you from Dingboche to Lobuche. The trail continues to ascend through the barren landscape, following the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. Along the way, enjoy views of towering peaks such as Nuptse and Pumori. Arrive in Lobuche, a small settlement at the foot of the glacier. Settle into a teahouse and take in the stunning views of the surrounding peaks.
Day 10: Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep, Everest Base Camp, and Return to Gorak Shep
Start early and trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep. After arriving at Gorak Shep, continue the trek to Everest Base Camp. Spend time at the base camp, taking in the awe-inspiring views of the Khumbu Icefall and surrounding peaks. Return to Gorak Shep for the night. Enjoy a celebratory meal and rest after a day of high-altitude adventure.
