The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

  • Meet your professional guide at Entebbe International Airport for pickup.
  • Drive for about 7 hours to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
  • Spend the night at Buffalo Safari Lodge.

Day 02

Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park

  • Wake up early in the morning and leave at 7:00 a.m. after breakfast.
  • Set out on a game drive to look for the Big Five animals, including lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinoceros, and spot other savanna wildlife in the park.

Day 03

Transfer from Uganda to Kigali

  • On the third day, wake up for breakfast before leaving the hotel at 8:00 a.m.
  • Transfer to Kigali, Rwanda, crossing the Uganda-Rwanda border. The journey takes about 4 hours, and you will spend the night in Kigali.

Day 04

Nature Walk in Nyungwe National Park

  • On the fourth day, wake up early and have breakfast before leaving the hotel at 5:30 a.m. It takes almost 3 hours to reach Nyungwe National Park.
  • A national park guide will lead you on a nature walk to experience the panoramic views of the rainforest and see some primates along the trail.

Day 05

Lowland Gorilla Trekking in Kahuzi-Biega National Park

  • On the fifth day, continue exploring Africa with another country, the Democratic Republic of Congo, where you will visit the ancestors of human beings in Kahuzi-Biega National Park through lowland gorilla trekking.
  • Leave the hotel at 6:00 a.m. to cross the Rwanda-DRC land border early.
  • After the day's activity, return to spend the night in Bukavu.

Day 06

Transfer to Bujumbura

  • As usual, wake up in the morning for breakfast before leaving the hotel at 8:00 a.m. to begin the journey to Bujumbura. It takes almost 4 hours to cross the DRC-Burundi land border.
  • Continue to the hotel and prepare for the next day's experience.

Day 07

Bujumbura City Tour and Rusizi National Park

  • Wake up in the morning for breakfast. Start your Bujumbura city tour from the hotel at 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., then return to the hotel for lunch and leave again at 3:00 p.m.
  • Visit Rusizi National Park to see different species of plants, animals, and birds until 5:00 p.m. Then return to the hotel.

Day 08

Transfer to Rumonge and Visit the Southern Nile Source

  • Wake up for breakfast and leave the hotel at 7:00 a.m. for a drive of around 3 hours before going sightseeing to explore the Southernmost source of the Nile and the Magara hot springs.
  • After the exploration, continue to spend the night at a hotel near the Burundi-Tanzania border.

Day 09

Chimpanzee Trekking in Gombe National Park

  • Continue exploring more countries of the East African Community.
  • Wake up and leave the hotel at 7:00 a.m. to cross the Burundi-Tanzania land border early.
  • After crossing the border, continue by car until reaching Lake Tanganyika, then take your private boat to Gombe National Park to enjoy the scenic views of the park and go chimpanzee trekking.
  • After the activity, return to Kigoma for the night.

Day 10

Karera Waterfalls, Nyakazu Faults, and Gishora Drummer Sanctuary

  • Wake up early and leave the hotel at 6:00 a.m. to return to Burundi by crossing the Tanzania-Burundi border.
  • Continue to Rutana Province to visit the Karera and Mwishanga waterfalls and the Nyakazu faults.
  • Then continue to Gitega to visit Gishora Drummer Sanctuary and shake off the tiredness and challenges of the tour while enjoying Burundi's drums and culture.

Day 11

Return to Bujumbura and Leisure Time

  • Wake up in the morning for breakfast and leave the hotel at 8:00 a.m.
  • Drive for almost 4 hours to Bujumbura, buy some souvenirs, and then go straight to the hotel for a short break and to prepare for your flight the next day.
