The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival at Bellavista, Monkey Island, and Pink Dolphin Spotting

Depart from Iquitos City by auto to the port town of Nanay (Bellavista), where the Río Nanay meets the Río Amazonas. After departing by boat, travel downriver for 70 km, about 2 hours. Enjoy a riverboat ride and spot caimans, turtles, herons, pink river dolphins, snakes, and many other species of flora and fauna along the riverbank.
Visit Monkey Island to interact with a wide variety of monkeys, including the sloth, Goeldi's monkey, tamarin monkey, capuchin monkey, yellow-handed titi monkey, masked titi monkey, cebidae monkey, woolly monkey, squirrel monkey, spider monkey, South American coati monkey, and many more. Along with the various species of monkeys, you will have the opportunity to hold very large anacondas and boas and interact with the unique and rare Amazonian mata-mata turtle. At Monkey Island, you will also see alligators, turtles, toucans, macaws, parrots, and more.
Witness the beautiful Pink Freshwater Dolphins and get a chance to swim with them on the main Amazon River.
In the evening, go on a nocturnal nature hike to see what types of species can be found, including lizards, snakes, spiders, and monkeys.

Day 02

Amazon Sunrise, Wildlife Observation, Fishing, and Caiman Excursion

Wake up to see the sunrise over the Amazon River, then leave camp for an animal observation excursion by boat, where you will have the opportunity to see various types of flora and fauna.
Proceed in the afternoon for a fishing excursion by boat, with the opportunity to catch piranha, catfish, and other species of fish.
Visit Victoria Regia - the largest freshwater aquatic plant in the world.
After sunset, go on an excursion by canoe to spot and catch caiman, with the opportunity to hold, touch, and take photos with them.

Day 03

Early Jungle Hike, Native Tribe Visit, and Return to Iquitos

Set out on an early morning jungle hike, where you will have the unique opportunity to see a vast number of monkeys, birds, and many other wildlife species in their natural habitat. You will also see and learn about various types of Amazonian plants.
Visit a local native Indian tribe to learn about and observe its history and customs.
Depart from Maniti Lodge for Iquitos City.
Transfer to the airport or hotel. End of service.

Know before you go

We do not have weight restrictions for luggage, but we kindly request that each guest limit their luggage to 23 kg or 50 lb. If your luggage weighs more than this, you can store the extra luggage in Iquitos at our office in our secure storage room until your trip is over.
You'll be sharing a room with the people in your reservation. Each room comes with a private bathroom for your comfort. We offer single rooms for solo travelers, as well as double, triple, and quadruple rooms. Your room will only be shared with the guests in your booking. The tours are also shared exclusively between you and the other guests staying at our lodge.
Transfers: We offer pick-up services from the Iquitos airport (between 6:00 AM and 12:00 PM) or any hotel within Iquitos city. Transfers are included only on the day the tour begins. At the end of your tour, we can drop you off at the Iquitos airport or at a location in Iquitos city.
