Day 01
Cairo to Bahariya Oasis, Black Desert and White Desert
- Pick-up transfer at 6:00 am for the drive from Cairo to Bahariya Oasis, حوالي 4 hours from Cairo.
- Black Desert: The Black Desert is an area of volcano-shaped, widely spaced mounds distributed about 30 km in western Egypt, between the White Desert in the south and Bahariya Oasis in the north. Most of its mounds are capped by basalt sills, which give them their characteristic black colour.
- Crystal Mountain: Crystal Mountain is a crystal ridge located between Bahariya Oasis and Farafra Oasis in Egypt.
- White Desert National Park: White Desert National Park is a national park in Egypt that was first established as a protected area in 2002. It is located in the Farafra Depression, 45 km north of the town of Farafra, and is partly within Farafra Oasis in the New Valley Governorate. The park is known for its sizeable white chalk rock formations created through erosion by wind and sand. It is also home to cliffs at the northern end of the Farafra Depression, dunes that form part of the Great Sand Sea, Wadi Hennis, and the oases of Ain El Maqfi and Ain El Wadi. The highest point in the park is El Qess Abu Said at 353 m above sea level, while the lowest is Wadi Hennis at 32 m. The park is a refuge for various animals, including the endangered Rhim gazelle and the vulnerable Dorcas gazelle, Barbary sheep, jackals, Ruppell's foxes, red foxes, fennec foxes, and sand cats.
