The itinerary
Day 02
Bujumbura City Tour
- Indulge in a city tour of the economic capital, Bujumbura, for around 4 hours from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
- Return to the hotel for lunch and overnight.
Day 03
Teza Tea Factory, Plantations, and Gishora Drum Sanctuary
- After breakfast, we will leave the hotel at 7:00 a.m. for a 3-hour drive to Kayanza Province to visit the Teza tea factory, learn about tea processing, and explore the tea plantations.
- After that, we will continue towards the political capital, Gitega, where we will visit the Gishora Drum Sanctuary to experience Burundi's culture.
Overnight in Gitega.
Day 04
Nyakazu Faults and Karera & Mwishanga Waterfalls
- After breakfast at 7:00 a.m., we will leave the hotel to visit two attractions in Rutana Province: the Nyakazu Faults and the Karera & Mwishanga Waterfalls.
- Stop at Sunstone Beach Resort to spend the night.
Day 05
Kigwena Natural Reserve and Return to Bujumbura
- After breakfast, we will leave the hotel at 7:00 a.m. to visit Kigwena Natural Reserve, where we will see different species of plants, birds, primates, and other wild animals hosted in the rainforest.
- Get a chance to interact with rural people living around the forest.
- Come back to the hotel for lunch.
- In the afternoon, leave the hotel at 3:00 p.m. to return to Bujumbura and spend the night there in preparation for your departure flight.
