Description
Embark on an Ethiopian adventure and explore Dorze Village’s UNESCO-acclaimed beehive huts. Cruise Lake Chamo to see crocodiles and hippos, then visit Konso Village’s generation poles. Discover Kara Village’s art and possibly witness a bull jumping ceremony. Meet the Dassanech tribe and explore Mursi Village’s unique traditions before returning to Addis Ababa.
Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Arba Minch
- 11:40 am - Departure from Bole International Terminal 1 at 11:40.
- Arrive at 12:45, where our driver guide will pick you up and have a coffee and lunch break.
- After driving to Dorze village, set high up in the Gughe Mountains, we see the traditional Dorze beehive-shaped huts recognized as one of the visually attractive structural houses by UNESCO.
- After the visit, drive back to Arba Minch.

Day 2: Lake Chamo and Konso village
- After breakfast, drive to Arba Minch and take a boat trip to Lake Chamo to visit the crocodile market. We will see hippos and some of the most giant crocodiles in Africa.
- After the visit, drive to Konso, have a lunch break and then visit Konso Village.
- Here, we will visit one of the 9 UNESCO registered villages. The Konso are known for the erection of stones and poles. The generation pole is raised every 18 years, marking the start of a new generation. The age of the village can be determined by how many poles are standing.
- After the visit, drive to Turmi.

Day 3: Activity Drive to Kara Village
- After breakfast, drive to Kara Village. Kara’s are a small tribe with an estimated population of 3,000; they live along the east banks of the Omo River. The Kara is known for the beautiful big villages' text to the Omo River and the kids’ panting faces and bodies.
- After the visit, drive back to Turmi and have a lunch break.
- After lunch, we can find one of the unique events of bull jumping- a ceremony when a boy is pronounced 'man' after proving his capacity to jump five up to 13 cattle stands in a row.
- The day includes a special event in which a woman shows her appreciation for the bridegroom by letting the boys whip them with a stick until they bleed.
- The day is called off at night after a colourful party with Evan Gady dance (night dance).
- If there is no bull Jumping, you will visit Hamer village in the afternoon.

Day 4: Dassanch Tribe Village - Jinka
- In the morning, drive to Omorate; here, you will cross the great Omo River with a local boat and visit the Dassanech tribe.
- After the visit, drive back to Turmi, have a lunch break and then drive to DImeka town for the weekly Hamer, Beena and Kara tribe's weekly market day.
- If you do not find Bull Jumping Friday, you can visit the Jinka Museum.
Overnight at a resort hotel in Jinka.

Day 5: Drive to Mursi Village and Fly Back to Addis Ababa
- Early in the morning, drive to Mursi village, where a minority of people live in the Lower Omo Valley. The women in this tribe are known for the big clay plate they put on their lips, whereas the men are known for the different patterns they paint on their bodies for decoration.
- After the visit, drive back to Jinka, have a Lunch Break, and then depart to Addis Ababa at 1:10 pm, arriving in Addis at 2:20 pm.
