Itinerary

1. Day 01: Arrival in Paro, Transfer to Thimphu

   • Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you'll be greeted by your guide and driver. The 1.5-hour scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan's capital, takes you through lush valleys and alongside the glistening Paro River. Check into your hotel and rest, adjusting to the altitude and soaking in the serene atmosphere.

2. Day 02: Excursion Tour in Thimphu

   • Explore Thimphu, a blend of tradition and modernity. Visit the Memorial Chorten, a stupa dedicated to world peace, and the National Library, housing ancient manuscripts. 
   • Discover the traditional arts and crafts at the Institute of Zorig Chusum and visit the majestic Tashichho Dzong, seat of Bhutan's government and monarchy.

3. Day 03: Drive from Thimphu to Punakha

   • Embark on a scenic drive to Punakha, passing through the verdant countryside and over the Dochula Pass (3,100m) with its panoramic views of the Himalayas. 
   • Visit Punakha Dzong, situated at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers, and explore Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of the Divine Madman.

4. Day 04: Drive from Punakha to Phobjikha Valley via Gangtey Goempa

   • Travel to the beautiful Phobjikha Valley, home to the endangered black-necked cranes. En route, visit Gangtey Goempa, an important monastery dating back to the 17th century. Explore the valley's serene environment and perhaps take a nature walk to spot some cranes.

5. Day 05: Drive from Gangtey/Phobjikha to Bumthang

   • Journey through picturesque landscapes to Bumthang, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan. The drive offers stunning views as you pass through villages and dense forests. Arrive in Bumthang and relax at your hotel.

6. Day 06: Attend the Nimalung Festival

   • Experience the vibrant Nimalung Tshechu (festival), where locals gather to witness religious masked dances and rituals. This festival provides insight into Bhutanese culture and Buddhism's rich traditions.

7. Day 07: Excursion Day in Bumthang

   • Explore the cultural treasures of Bumthang, visiting Jakar Dzong, Kurjey Lhakhang, and Tamshing Lhakhang. These ancient monasteries and temples are steeped in history and spiritual significance.

8. Day 08: Drive from Bumthang to Wangdue

   • Travel through Bhutan's central region to Wangdue, enjoying the scenic landscapes and rural life along the way. Visit Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, perched strategically on a ridge overlooking the Punatsangchhu River.

9. Day 09: Drive from Wangdue to Paro, Sightseeing

   • Return to Paro via a scenic drive, stopping at points of interest such as Simtokha Dzong, one of the oldest fortresses in Bhutan. In Paro, visit the National Museum (Ta Dzong) and explore Paro town.

10. Day 10: Sightseeing and Acclimatization Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery

    • Embark on a hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), Bhutan's most iconic landmark perched on a cliff at 3,180m above sea level. The hike offers spectacular views and a glimpse into Bhutanese spirituality.

11. Day 11: Departure

    • Transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey. Bid farewell to the Land of the Thunder Dragon, taking with you cherished memories of its culture, landscapes, and warm hospitality.
