Angkor Wat Sunrise and Tonle Sap Cruise Sunset Tour
- Pre-dawn departure from your hotel at approximately 4:30 am or (5:00 am depends on time of the year changes) to start the tour by visiting sunrise at Angkor Wat from the east gate; travellers will be walking in the dark and quiet entrance to the central of Angkor Wat and visit the whole temple, before leaving via west gate.
- Have a break for fresh breakfast (takeaway from the hotel) at a recommended restaurant located in front of the temple. Then, continue your morning tour by entering Angkor Thom “Great City”; from the South gate; welcoming you by guardian God “devas” statues on the right-hand side and demon God “asuras” on the left-hand side.
- Drive pass through Bayon temple; located in the center of Angkor Thom, Terrace of Elephant and Terrace of Leper King. Leaving Angkor Thom via the east gate, the “victory gate” to visit Ta Prohm temple ‘Tomb raider Temple’, one of the most atmospheric temples in the Angkor complex. The temple was ‘rediscovered’ by a French explorer, Henri Mouhot and is one of the best temples for photographer lovers as there are many attractive places that encourage you to take photos because of the encroaching roots of fig trees covering many parts of this ancient buried deep in the jungle.
- End of your morning touring, return to town and take a lunch break.
- Restart touring again in the late afternoon; drive to the Tonle Sap Lake, the second largest fresher water lake in the world, to catch a boating trip.
- Leisurely visit sunset on the boat cruise at Kampong Pluk floating village. It is one of the biggest floating villages in the Siem Reap province. You will have a chance to see the daily life of people living in the floating houses, including schools, markets, hospitals and so on. However, some houses and other public places are at a standstill; some of them are still on floating boats, allowing them of move up or down from one place to another depending on the level of water. This lake is the lifeblood of the country and the primary source of fish provider for Cambodians. At the rainy season, May to November, the lake becomes typically doubles its side, and it is the best time for Cambodia to catch fish for their daily food or selling. In the dry season, December to April, this area will become fertilizer land for farmers to do their rice planting and some other kinds of vegetables.
- Late evening return back to your hotel enjoying your free time to explore Siem Reap town independently.
