- 07 Winter-only adventure available from October to April
Venture beyond the usual glacier routes on this full-day winter adventure in Skaftafell, where a small-group format allows for a more immersive and technical experience on an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull. With a low guest-to-guide ratio, this tour is designed to reach more remote terrain and, conditions permitting, a hidden ice cave that larger groups rarely access.
Along the way, you’ll learn and use a range of crampon techniques to move safely across uneven ice, with the possibility of minor ice climbing if the route requires it. Your guide will also share insights into the surrounding landscape and glacier formation, adding depth to this ever-changing winter journey.
Because the glacier is constantly evolving, every trip is a unique exploration. Available only from October to April, this experience is best suited to physically fit travellers who are comfortable hiking for up to 15 km on uneven, hilly terrain and spending a full day outdoors.
