Day 01
Agua Clara Locks and Fort San Lorenzo from Panama City
- Pick up at your hotel at 7:00 AM and begin the adventure by driving along the Panama-Colon highway.
- Continue to the Agua Clara Locks, located approximately 1.5 hours away on the Caribbean side of the country.
- Be amazed by the magnitude of the ships transiting the Agua Clara Locks.
- Visit the new Gatun Locks Observation Deck for panoramic views of the canal in operation.
- Discover the giant ships passing through the locks below.
- Stroll through the visitor center, watch an informative video, and experience a hike on the nearby rainforest trail.
- Learn how engineers were able to raise Gatun Lake, build new locks, and widen the existing canals to accommodate the huge New Panamax ships.
- Around 10:00 AM, continue to Fort San Lorenzo, arriving at 11:00 AM.
- Discover the history of Fort San Lorenzo.
- Marvel at the rich history of the well-preserved ruins as your guide explains the colorful past of this historic landmark.
- Shop at the Colón Free Zone, a massive showroom where wholesalers, retailers, and the general public shop.
- At 12:00 PM, return to Panama City and arrive at your hotel at 2:00 PM.
