Itinerary

1. Day 01: Arrival in Paro

   • Upon arrival in Paro, take some time to rest and adjust to the altitude. 
   • Explore the quaint town, visit the Paro Dzong, and stroll around the local market to get a feel of Bhutanese culture.

2. Day 02: Sightseeing and Acclimatization Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery 

   • Embark on a memorable hike to the iconic Tiger's Nest Monastery. This challenging yet rewarding trek takes about 4 to 5 hours and offers breathtaking views of the Paro valley.

3. Day 03: Drive to Thimphu from Paro

   • Travel to Bhutan's capital city, Thimphu, just an hour's drive from Paro. Explore Thimphu's landmarks, such as the National Memorial Chorten, the Buddha Dordenma Statue, and the impressive Tashichho Dzong.

4. Day 04: Drive to Punakha via Dochu-La Pass

   • Enjoy a scenic drive to Punakha, passing through the stunning Dochu-La Pass. 
   • Stop to admire the panoramic views of the Himalayas and visit the Punakha Dzong, situated at the confluence of two rivers.

5. Day 05: Drive to Bumthang via Trongsa 

   • Embark on a picturesque drive to Bumthang, a region known for its historical significance and natural beauty. 
   • En route, stop at Trongsa Dzong, one of Bhutan's most majestic fortresses, and explore its fascinating architecture.

6. Day 06: Sightseeing in Bumthang city including Jakar Dzong 

   • Explore the charming town of Jakar, also known as Bumthang Valley, and visit its iconic Jakar Dzong. 
   • Wander through the local markets and immerse yourself in the peaceful ambience of the valley.

7. Day 07: Trek from Bumthang to Ngang Lhakhang 

   • Embark on a scenic trek from Bumthang to Ngang Lhakhang, passing through lush forests and picturesque villages. 
   • Enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside and soak in the landscape's natural beauty.

8. Day 08: Trek from Ngang Lhakhang to Ugyenchholing 

   • Continue your trekking adventure to Ugyenchholing, where you'll encounter pristine landscapes and traditional Bhutanese villages. 
   • Take in the breathtaking views and savour the serenity of the surroundings.

9. Day 09: Trek from Ugyenchholing to Jakar 

   • Complete your trek back to Jakar, where you can relax and reflect on your trekking experiences. 
   • Enjoy a traditional Bhutanese meal and cultural performances during your last evening in Bumthang.

10. Day 10: Drive back to Punakha

    • Return to Punakha and spend the day exploring the town or engaging in optional activities such as river rafting or visiting nearby temples.

11. Day 11: Drive back to Paro via Dochu-La Pass 

    • Enjoy your final scenic drive back to Paro, taking in the stunning vistas. 
    • Spend your last evening in Bhutan reminiscing about your adventures and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.

12. Day 12: Transfer to Paro International Airport – Departure 

    • Bid farewell to Bhutan as you transfer to the airport for your onward journey. 
    • Take one last look at the majestic mountains and serene valleys, knowing you've experienced the magic of the Land of the Thunder Dragon.
