Day by day

The itinerary

Day 01

Transfer from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi and Sunset Game Drive

Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam at around 5:30 am for your transfer to Mikumi National Park, which will take about 5 to 6 hours.
At Morogoro, you will have a hot lunch and then continue with game drives until sunset.
You will see many animals, including elephants, lions, and more.
After the game drive, you will be taken to Camp Bastian for dinner, overnight stay, and preparation for the next day's schedule.

Day 02

Drive to Nyerere National Park and Evening Boat Safari

In the morning after breakfast, you will be picked up from your camp and driven to Nyerere National Park.
There will be a picnic lunch on the way.
You will arrive there in the evening and embark on a boat safari.
During your boat trip, you will spot hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat.

Meals and your overnight stay will be offered at Africa Safari Camp.

Day 03

Full-Day Game Drive in Nyerere National Park

After breakfast, from 7:30 am until evening, you will enjoy a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park, formerly Selous Game Reserve. The journey will start from Africa Safari Selous, where our professional drivers and guides will take you.
You will enjoy various tourist attractions, including animals such as elephants, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and many more.
You will also see birds and beautiful landscape scenery with varied topography, including wetlands, dry grassland, light acacia forest, and higher ground with vast views of far-off mountains.
In the afternoon, you will have your packed lunch and some time to rest.
Then, continue with game drives until the evening, when you will return to Africa Safari Selous for dinner, overnight stay, and preparation for your last day.

Day 04

Bushman Walking Safari and Return to Dar es Salaam

On this day, you will have your morning tea and then go on a bushman walking tour in the forest with our bushman, accompanied by an armed ranger.
After the walking tour, you will return to Africa Safari Camp for breakfast.
After that, prepare to drive back to Dar es Salaam.
On the way, you will have time to eat lunch.

What to bring

Camera memory cards - the novice explorer took 10 GB of videos and photographs.
Sunhat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
A small trolley will be enough, and you can always leave the big suitcase with us or in your hotel in Zanzibar.
Snacks are always a good idea.

Know before you go

Learn which animals are grazers - those that eat grass only, such as wildebeests, zebras, warthogs, and hippos.
Learn which animals are browsers - they eat leaves, grasses, trees, and bushes, like elephants, giraffes, elands, and other antelopes.
Listen to and follow the instructions of the ranger/guide. The ranger's number one responsibility is keeping safari guests safe from danger.
Wild animals are unpredictable and should not be provoked. Stay in the safari vehicle. If on a walking safari, never get between a mother and her young one.
