Santo Antão Mountain Roads, Colonial Towns and Paul Valley
- I will be waiting for you at Porto Novo Harbour upon the arrival of the ferry from Mindelo. The old panoramic road ascends into the mountains, offering views of São Vicente and unique lava landscapes before the scenery transitions abruptly into lush greenery.
- Throughout the excursion, weather permitting, you'll enjoy fantastic views unlike any you have seen before.
- Revel in the crater's breathtaking scenery, with its vibrant agricultural fields, and be awestruck by the magnificent vistas of the canyons at Chá de Mato.
- Next, you'll explore the town of Ribeira Grande, renowned for its colonial architecture and former status as the island's economic and cultural capital.
- Continuing on, the journey leads to the city of Ponta Sol, characterized by its historic buildings, where we'll stop for lunch.
- Then, our next destination is Paul Valley, the gateway to the lushest valley in the archipelago.
- You'll soak in the stunning scenery as we drive among sugar cane fields and orchards of mangoes, papayas, bananas, and more.
- Before returning to the harbour via the newly constructed coastal road, we'll visit a distillery and sample the renowned local rum called "grogue."
