Itinerary

Day 01: Aswan | Kom Ombo | Gebel El-Silsila
- Our Aswan representative will pick you up at any of your choice points (Hotel/ Airport/Train station) at 09:00 am; then you will be transferred to our Dahabiya.
- Start sailing toward Kom Ombo, where you will visit the double worshipped gods Sobek & Haroris “Kom Ombo temple” related to the Greko-Roman period. Enjoy your lunch, sail to Gabel-El-Silsila, the sandstone quarries and rock-cut chapels and tombs of Horemheb, Seti I, Ramesses II, and Merenptah, dinner and overnight on board Akhnaton.

Day 02: Edfu | El Fawaz
- While enjoying breakfast, the Dahabiya Captain will sail to El-Kab, known as Nekhbet. It contains several Noble tombs covered by many hieroglyphic inscriptions and high-resolution drawings that represent the daily life of their owners and life after death. The most famous tomb belonged to Ahmos.
Lunch will be served while sailing to Esna. Dinner will be served under the clear sky. Overnight.

Day 3: El-Kab – Esna

Weather in Egypt—Egypt's climate is hot from May to September and has a fantastic season from October to April.

Dress Code in Egypt—We recommend a strict dress code for the month of travel. Hot shorts are not recommended, especially at religious places, but they are allowed in resort cities like Sharm, Dahab, El Gouna, Marsa Alam, and Hurghada.

Esna: It is located in Upper Egypt on the west bank of the Nile, about 55 km south of the Luxor day tours. It was formally incorporated into the new Luxor Governorate.

El Kab: it’s about 80 kilometres south of Luxor on the east bank of the Nile at the mouth of the Wadi Hill. You can reach it by booking from Egypt Nile Cruises to enjoy the charming sea view. It was called Nekheb in the Old Egyptian language. It is a rock-cut tomb of a combination of the early Eighteenth Dynasty, Early Dynastic period, and Ptolemaic Kingdom, part of the walls of a Coptic monastery.

Temple of Edfu (Temple of Horus): The temple is dedicated to Horus Horus, the avenging son of Isis and Osiris. It is also called " Apollopolis Magna" as per the old Greek documents because the Greeks identified Horus with their god Apollo. The temple is located in Edfu, around 109km away from Luxor. It was one of the most well-preserved sites in Egypt tours because it was buried under the desert sands and rediscovered in the 19th century.

Gebel El-Silsila (Arabic name means Series or Chain of Mountains) is located in Upper Egypt between Edfu Kom Ombo, about 65km north of the Aswan day tours. The cliffs on both sides are close to the narrowest point along the length of the entire River Nile. It was used, at least from the 18th Dynasty to Greco-Roman times, as a major quarry site on both sides of the Nile, and it is famous for its New Kingdom cenotaphs and stelai.

The Kom Ombo Temple is unique because it was dedicated to two Gods (the Falcon god Horus and the crocodile God Sobek) and was built by Ptolemy VI. Its design contains courts, halls, sanctuaries, and rooms duplicated for two sets of gods, and it contains 02 parts. The southern half of the temple was dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, the god of fertility, who is the creator of the world (in ancient Egyptian religion). However, the northern part of the temple was dedicated to the falcon god Horus.

Highlights of the Cruise Aswan to Luxor

Philae Temple: This temple is dedicated to the goddess Isis. It’s a temple that tells one of the most famous Egyptian mythologies that you can listen to during Egypt tours. The mythology is about Isis and how she brought her beloved husband back to life, the birth of her son Horus and the mummification of Osiris after death.

The temple was moved to a small island called Agilika after the building of the High Dam to preserve it from the flood. It was originally built during the reign of Ptolemy II (Egypt’s Greco-Roman Period).

In the past, there were obelisks in front of the temple. British Consul Henry Salt removed them in 1918 and placed them in a garden in Dorset, England.

The High Dam: It’s a rock-fill dam located at the northern border between Egypt and Sudan. It is considered an engineering miracle to protect Egypt from annual floods from the Nile, as construction for the project began in 1960 and was completed in 1968. The High Dam protects Egypt and has become a top attraction of Aswan day tours. It was officially inaugurated in 1971 and measures 111m in height, 3,830m in length, and has a base width of 980m. The spillway has a discharge capacity of 11,000m³ a second.

The clients visit 03 tombs during their tour of the opening tombs.

The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut: located on the West Bank of the River Nile & also known as Deir El-Bahari Temple which is the Mortuary Temple of beautiful Queen Hatshepsut the first known female monarch (she ruled for about two decades) and who was the stepmother of pharaoh Thutmose III.

The Colossi Statues of Memnon are located on the West Bank of the River Nile. They are two huge stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who reigned in Egypt during the Dynasty XVIII (around 1350 BC).

The huge Temple of Karnak complex is located on the East Bank of the River Nile and is considered the largest open-air museum in Egypt. It was one of ancient Egypt's grandest and most ambitious building projects, with multiple temple buildings covering more than 100 hectares.

The Temple of Luxor is located in the heart of the city on the East Bank of the River Nile. It is one of the most beautiful temples in Egypt. Its entrance is known as the first pylon, which was built by Ramses II and decorated with scenes of his military expeditions (especially his victory at the Battle of Kadesh).
