Drive to Wadi El-Natrun, which is considered the birthplace of Christian monasticism. During your visit, you will see some of the remaining monasteries out of the fifty that were once established in this location. You should start your journey by visiting Deir al-Baramus, the oldest and most secluded monastery. Here, you will learn about the Desert Fathers of Christian monasticism and then visit Deir Anba Bishoi and Deir El-Suryani.

Tour to Wadi El-Natrun monastery from Alexandria
- Get picked up from Alexandria and ride a comfortable and air-conditioned vehicle to Wadi El-Natrun, the birthplace of Christian monasticism. Initially, there were around 50 monasteries in the area, but only four have survived.
- Your journey will begin with a visit to Deir al-Baramus, the oldest and most isolated of the four surviving monasteries.
- From there, you can proceed to Deir Anba Bishoi, where the body of Anba Bishoi is still kept.
- Your trip will end with a visit to Deir El-Suryani, the smallest and most compact of the four monasteries.
