3
Day 03

Lemurs and Forest Trails in Andasibe

  • After breakfast, meet your guide for a visit to Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. Trek along the trails to see wild diademed sifakas, woolly sifakas, common brown lemurs, and the famous Indri Indri. Explore the forest paths in search of orchids and birdlife.

6
Day 06

Explore the Limestone Wonders of Bekopaka

  • This is one of the most extraordinary sites in Madagascar, with a natural limestone cathedral. The dense network of faults, cracks, and blocks of limestone carved into blades creates one of the country's most striking landscapes. Around 200 million years ago, the sea of Bemaraha covered this region. Among its marvels are six species of lemurs, reptiles, and 53 varieties of birds. It is also the habitat of the tiny chameleon known as "Brookesia," and a wonderful place to appreciate the magnificent sunset.
7
Day 07

Return to Morondava via the Avenue of the Baobabs

  • Drive back to Morondava town via the famous "Allée des Baobabs."
  • Arrive in time for great pictures when the sun is low, as the raking light and smooth trunks reflect the sun's orange rays. Lunch will be at Belo sur Tsiribihina.
  • Settle into your hotel by the sea for dinner.
8
Day 08

Free Day by the Beach in Morondava

  • After the long drive, enjoy a free day at the beach. You may also take part in optional water activities such as scuba diving and snorkelling.

  • Stroll through the town before continuing to Ranomafana, in the heart of the Betsileo tribe. This is one of the highest parts of Madagascar, and the road is winding as well.
  • Turn east and arrive at the rainforest in the late afternoon.
11
Day 11

Rainforest Wildlife in Ranomafana National Park

  • Head into Ranomafana National Park and discover the beautiful sites of the rainforest and primary forest. Be accompanied by a local guide in this humid area, and carry waterproof gear with you. You may see various species of lemurs, such as the Golden bamboo lemur (Hapalemur aureus), the red-fronted brown lemur (Eulemur fulvus), and the red-bellied lemur (Eulemur rubriventer). There are also rare and endangered species here, including the Greater bamboo lemur (Hapalemur simus). Botanically, the park is a genetic reservoir for rare endemic plant species and many medicinal plants.
  • Return to the hotel for lunch.
12
Day 12

Drive to Isalo National Park

  • Drive to Isalo National Park, home to some of Madagascar's most stunning scenery. It features barren landscapes, twisted rock formations, and extraordinary plant life, including Bismarck palms, elephant's feet (Pachypodium), endemic Aloe, and other xerophytes.
  • During your full-day visit, notice sifakas, red-fronted lemurs, waterfalls, canyons, and natural swimming pools. You might even witness mouse lemurs.
13
Day 13

Trekking and Scenic Views in Isalo

  • Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park.
  • Hike along the Canyon des Makis, where you can go for a dip.
  • In the late afternoon, return to the hotel via the famous Isalo window to appreciate a breathtaking scene in the colours of the setting sun.
14
Day 14

To Tulear and the Spiny Forest of Ifaty

  • Wake up early and drive to Tulear through changing botanical landscapes.
  • On the way, you will see the Mahafaly tribe's typical tombs, beautifully painted and decorated, with fantastic wooden sculptures erected on them. From here, the sea can be seen in the distance before reaching Tulear.
  • Visit Ifaty and its spiny forest, a unique Madagascar ecoregion whose plants include baobabs (Adansonia za) and Madagascan ocotillo (Alluaudia procera), both adapted to extreme drought.
  • After the visit, head back to Toliara.
15
Day 15
