Places to visit in Mindelo
Visit the cultural and historic center of Mindelo, the capital culture of Cape Verde Archipelago.
Visit the Cultural Center of Mindelo, where you can find art exhibitions, traditional handicrafts of Cape Verde Islands, and every year in September you can appreciate the International Festival of Theatre, Mandela.
Further, visit the Fish Market, the African Market, the first church of Sao Vicente Island, Our Lady of Lights, and the Municipal Market and the emblematic Rua de Lisboa, the most famous street of Sao Vicente, a place where the great singer Cesária Évora "The Queen of Morna" begun her career and the most famous feast of Cape Verde happen, the Carnival.
To finish the tour you can visit the Museum of Traditional Arts, the first high school on the island, and the old radio station of the island which now is a place where you can appreciate the traditional handicraft of Cape Verde and the Traditional Festival of Handicraft, Fonartes.
