• Most castles are free to see from the outside, except Balmoral and Glamis. Interior tours are chargeable and subject to seasonal opening times. Please contact us for details. Please note that Balmoral is not open all year, so alternative castles and attractions can be visited. The tour normally lasts 9-10 hours, including travel time.

Know before you go

• Dunnottar Castle can be seen in its full glory from the cliff top, but there is a long staircase to get inside.
