Bucharest Highlights Bike Tour

  • Meet your Romanian tour guide in Herastrau Park, in front of Hard Rock Cafe.

  • See Herastrau, a glorious park spread over 187 hectares and one of the jewels in Bucharest's crown.

  • Ride along Kiseleff Street, lined with museums, parks such as Kiseleff Park and Herăstrău Park, grand residences, and the Arcul de Triumf.

  • Admire the Peasant Museum's wonderful red-brick building, designed by Nicolae Ghica-Budeşti and dating from 1912.

  • Pass through Victory Square and continue along the historic Victory Avenue.

  • Witness some significant episodes of Romania's recent history in University Square. This is where the Goliad and the Mineriad took place in the early 1990s, right after the fall of the communist regime.

  • View Revolution Square, once known as Piața Palatului. It used to be the Royal Palace and is now home to the National Museum of Art of Romania.

  • Stop at the Bucharest Atheneum, a concert hall in the center of Bucharest. Since 1888, it has been a landmark of the Romanian capital.

  • Proceed to the Old Theatre, founded as Teatrul cel Mare din Bucureşti. It became a national institution in 1864 by decree of Prime Minister Mihail Kogălniceanu and is now administered by the Romanian Ministry of Culture.

  • View the Parliament House (optional), also known as the People's House, a series of impressive buildings that show how wealthy and powerful the Socialist Republic of Romania once was.

  • Enjoy the busy Old Bucharest area, once known as "Little Paris." The area is full of architectural masterpieces.

  • Visit the Vlad Țepeș castle ruins, which used to be the former residences of Vlad the Impaler.

  • Go through Unirii Square, one of the largest squares in central Bucharest. It houses the Piața Unirii metro station, RATB bus interchanges, and a tram terminal. This central point of Bucharest also features a huge shopping center and beautiful fountains.
