The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Arusha and Transfer to Mount Meru Hotel

  • On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, Arusha, your private driver-guide will pick you up and transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha Town.

You will have dinner at the hotel and stay overnight at Mount Meru Hotel.

Day 02

Tarangire National Park Exploration

  • After an early morning breakfast, you will depart for Tarangire National Park, a fine Tanzania wildlife destination named after the Tarangire River that runs through the park. The river is a vital source of water, attracting a huge population of wildlife, including elephants, which you will be able to see.
  • Arrive in the park in time for lunch, which you will have after checking in. Then, go for an afternoon game drive exploring the savannah plains of the park and see various animals.
  • Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Maramboi Tented Lodge.

Day 03

Discover Lake Manyara National Park

  • After an early morning breakfast, you will depart for Lake Manyara National Park, an unspoilt Tanzania wildlife destination known for its abundance of birds and tree-climbing lions. It comprises the dramatic western escarpment of the Rift Valley, which forms the western border of the park, and Lake Manyara to the east.
  • You will arrive in the park in time for lunch, which you will have after checking into your lodge. After lunch, you will go for an extensive game drive exploring the park and enjoy seeing many animals.
  • Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Kitela Lodge.

Day 04

Ngorongoro Crater Safari Experience

  • Enjoy an early breakfast and depart for Ngorongoro Crater - the world's largest intact crater. Ngorongoro Crater is almost 600 meters deep and was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself 2 to 3 million years ago.
  • Driving down into the crater is an adventure, and when you reach the crater floor, you will be able to see large numbers of wildebeests, lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, gazelles, the endangered black rhino, and more than 500 bird species in the open grasslands.
  • Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at the luxury Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge on the rim of the crater.

Day 05

Journey to Serengeti National Park

  • Have an early morning breakfast, then depart for Serengeti National Park, one of the most famous wildlife destinations in the world and one of the oldest ecosystems on earth. Serengeti National Park is truly spectacular and is the oldest national park in Tanzania.
  • When you arrive in the park, you will check into your lodge for lunch, and in the afternoon, you will go for an extensive game drive.
  • You will spend the next two days exploring Serengeti National Park and enjoying the sights of the endless plains and animals such as cheetahs, giraffes, lions, zebras, wildebeests, elephants, hippos, hyenas, leopards, wild dogs, and buffaloes, among others.
  • Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge.

Day 06

Full-day Safari in the Serengeti

  • You will start your day at the center of the majestic Serengeti.
  • After a nourishing breakfast, you will continue your journey into the plains on a full-day game drive that will allow you to spot hundreds of the diverse animals that find their home within the Serengeti's endless plains. If you are especially excited to see animals extremely close up, you won't forget today.
  • You will likely see all the animals that make this park famous only a few feet away from you.
  • You will also have the chance to gaze on some of the park's lesser-known but equally fascinating animals, including the majestic eland, the clever hyena, graceful gazelle, stolid crocodiles, and of course giraffe, zebra, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, and antelope.
  • If you visit at the right time of the year, you will witness one of the modern natural wonders of the world - the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra.
  • You will spend the night at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge, well known for animal sightings.

Day 07

Flight to Zanzibar and Relaxation in Nungwi

  • After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar Airport through Stone Town. The flight will be arranged, and Zanzibar's Nungwi Island is well known for its white coral sand that seems to glow even after nightfall. Nungwi has a wide, expansive coastline open for swimming and snorkeling in pristine reef waters.
  • There are plenty of activities to do, such as walking tours, sunset cruises, diving excursions, and parasailing, among others.
  • At sunset, you will take a traditional dhow boat for a cruise.
  • You will spend 3 nights at Z Hotel on this incredible beach.

Day 08

Departure from Zanzibar

  • After a leisurely breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home, marking the end of your adventure.
  • End of tour.

  • This tour starts and ends in Arusha.
  • The operator can help select your international or domestic flights, but you will have to book them yourself.
  • Fly to/from Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO - check price) near Arusha. Or fly to/from Arusha Airport (ARK - check price) via Dar es Salaam or Nairobi (Kenya).
  • A transfer from and back to the airport is included.
  • Additional accommodation before and at the end of the tour can be arranged for an extra cost.
  • Tarangire National Park is well known for its large herds of elephants, often seen congregating by the river, as well as giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, lions, leopards, and bird species.
  • Lake Manyara National Park is a shallow alkaline lake covering a large area of the park. This lake dries in the dry season and floods in the wet season, and it is home to thousands of flamingoes during the rainy season.
  • Lake Manyara National Park is dominated by diverse vegetation, from savannah to evergreen forest, hosting a variety of wildlife including tree-climbing lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, cape buffaloes, and elephants, among others.
  • Ngorongoro Crater is famous for both its geological delights and for a natural reserve that is home to some of the densest large mammal populations in Africa. When you arrive at the crater, you will have lunch and then descend into the crater for a game drive.
  • Serengeti National Park boasts abundant wildlife; however, it is best known for its annual Great Migration.
  • Huge numbers of wildebeests, accompanied by large numbers of zebras and antelopes, move in an annual pattern seeking fresh grasslands and water.
  • The timing of the migration is entirely dependent on the rainfall patterns each year.
