Journey to Puerto Almanza and Cascada del Duende

  • We pick up passengers from their accommodations and begin our adventure towards Puerto Almanza, 75 km from Ushuaia.
  • We travel along National Route N°3, where we observe landscapes that combine the Andes mountain range, forests, and peat valleys.
  • We continue until reaching the junction with alternative Route J, which leads to a gravel road.
  • On Route J, we stop for a few minutes to enjoy a coffee break at Laguna Victoria, located at kilometre 12.
  • We then arrive at Brown Bay, where we can see Chile directly across from us.
  • There, Route J forks from Route K, and our journey continues along Route K towards the long-awaited town of Puerto Almanza.
  • This small fishing town takes its name from a sawmill that operated there between the 1940s and 1950s.
  • Today, Puerto Almanza has an anchorage that receives both fishing and tourism boats.
  • The activity of artisanal fishermen focuses on extracting crabs and molluscs from the Beagle Channel, as well as fishing for bass.
  • Enterprises dedicated to breeding mussels, cholgas, sea urchins, and trout have also been established.
  • We finish with tastings of the area's local cuisine, and after lunch, we take a relaxed walk to the picturesque Cascada del Duende, which is easily accessible.
  • Finally, we return to the city of Ushuaia and drop passengers off at their respective accommodations, bringing this journey to an end.
