Day 01
Ushuaia to Cabo San Pablo via Garibaldi Pass
- The day begins with pick-up from the hotels as we depart from Ushuaia along National Route No. 3.
- Our first stop is the Carbajal Valley viewpoint.
- Here, you can contemplate the beauty of the valley of the same name and the imposing Mount Olivia.
- We then continue along the route until we reach Haruwen Winter Resort.
- There, we can visit a gin distillery and a motorcycle museum.
- Afterwards, we continue along the route to Garibaldi Pass.
- Here, we cross the Andes and admire Escondido and Fagnano Lakes.
- Along the way, these beautiful bodies of water will accompany us.
- Once we reach their head, we descend to enjoy a picnic-style breakfast with local products.
- Our journey continues to Tolhuin, located in the heart of the province.
- During this part of the trip, we can observe the changes in vegetation.
- The landscape shifts from the Patagonian Andean forest to the steppe.
- Next, we head down Alternative Route A to Cabo San Pablo.
- There, we stop to view the iconic stranded ship Desdemona.
- This 60-year-old German vessel ran aground in 1985.
- After taking photos and exploring its exterior,
- we head to a cosy country house, where Silvia and her family will be waiting for us with a refreshing lunch.
- After regaining our strength, we continue to the abandoned lighthouse at Cabo San Pablo.
- From this point, we can enjoy panoramic views of the Argentine South Sea and the Desdemona ship from a privileged height.
- We will do a simple, aerobic walk of 1.5 km.
- During the walk, we may have the opportunity to spot condors, guanacos, and foxes.
- Once the excursion ends, we return to the van to begin the journey back to the city of Ushuaia.
- There, each traveller will be dropped off at their respective accommodation.
