Day 01
Testour Village and the Roman Ruins of Dougga
- Stop at the Andalusian village of Testour.
- Stroll through the heart of the city with your guide and visit the great mosque. You will also discover the unique clock, which turns in the opposite direction, and even its figures are written in reverse.
- Stop at the Dougga Archaeological Site. During your visit, below is an idea of its most important components:
- Theatre: Right next to the small parking lot and the entrance to the site is the theatre. It could, and still can, accommodate 3,500 people. Sit in the stands - the view over the plain below is magnificent.
- Capitol: Leaving the theatre, you walk through the old alleys. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the Capitol, a monument overlooking the entire city. This construction is in an exceptional state of conservation. It is possible to go down to its columns and enter the monument. The height of the pillars, about 10 metres, is truly impressive.
- Forum: Right next to the Capitol is the Forum. Unlike the Capitol, few columns remain around the forum. This has the advantage of opening the horizon and offering an interesting panorama.
- House of the Trifolium: Going back to the reception area, you will pass numerous baths and private houses, such as the House of the Trifolium. These ruins are very interesting because they make it easy to understand the architecture of the villa and the layout of its rooms.
