Kicker Rock Diving or Discovery Dive Experience

  • Diving at Kicker Rock (if you have a PADI license):

    1. An exciting day awaits you. After an early breakfast, you will set out on a day trip to Kicker Rock, one of the most emblematic places in the Galápagos.
    2. A comfortable speedboat navigates along the coast of San Cristóbal until you arrive at Kicker Rock. It is composed of compacted volcanic ash, not rock, and towers almost 500 ft / 150 m from the ocean floor, splitting into two above-surface structures that are connected below the surface by a channel running between them.
    3. It is home to many birds, and you will be able to spot Nazca boobies, blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds, and tropicbirds. The underwater world makes this day extra memorable, as it is a real hot spot for underwater wildlife.
    4. Get ready for a wet landing! You will have two diving immersions directly into the water to experience everything that Kicker Rock has to offer, where you will scuba dive alongside iconic Galápagos wildlife such as hammerheads, sea turtles, Galápagos sharks, and other amazing creatures that inhabit this site.
    5. After lunch on the boat, head to a beautiful, pristine beach, where you can relax and warm up in the sunshine before returning to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno in the afternoon.

Bahía Naufragio is a fantastic place where a boat wrecked in the previous century, and today it is the habitat of different reef fish that you can reach with your guide.
    2. On board, you will receive an informative talk, and everything will be checked before the dive.
    3. In the case of a discovery dive, you will do a single dive at approximately 10 meters.
    4. You will then sail back to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, where you will stay.
