The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival in Libreville and City Tour

  • Upon arrival at the airport in Libreville, you will meet our representative, who will assist you with customs and formalities before transferring you to your accommodation.
  • If you arrive early, you will have the chance to enjoy a city tour of Libreville.
  • Your day tour starts with a stop at St. Michael Catholic Church, built in 1964 by the Gabonese artist Zéphyrin Lendogno.
  • Then continue to the National Museum of Arts, Rites, and Traditions, which beautifully showcases Gabon's cultural heritage.
  • Of course, while in the city, it is a must to stop at the market.
  • Here, we will visit Mont-Bouet, the largest African market in Gabon, with many stalls selling jewellery, clothing, and fruits.
  • Interact with the locals and experience daily life.
  • End your day with a stop at Notre Dame de Lourdes, located on the hill above the town, which serves as a favourite place of worship for local Catholics.

Back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 02

Fly to Port Gentil and Transfer to Loango Camp

  • After breakfast, you will meet our driver at your hotel reception for a transfer to the Afrijet terminal to catch your morning flight to Port Gentil.
  • The flight is about 35 minutes, and upon landing, you will meet our representative, who will escort you to board your 4x4 vehicle for a drive to the camp.
  • You will drive through the scenic bushveld of Gabon for about 3.5 hours before reaching your accommodation camp in Loango.
  • Check in at the camp for refreshments and lunch.
  • Late in the afternoon, you will go for an evening game drive and a sundowner in Loango National Park in search of the Big Five.

Day 03

Explore Loango National Park

  • Morning and evening game drives in Loango National Park.

  • Boat safaris.

  • Gorilla trekking: witness the close proximity of these animals to humans, though spotting them can be challenging due to their wariness and aggression towards human interaction.

  • Whale watching: capture vivid experiences with these playful mammals as they surface and dive.

Day 04

Return to Libreville

  • Today, you have the option of a morning game drive before returning to the camp for breakfast.
  • After breakfast, check out and depart for the city.
  • Drive to Port Gentil Airport to catch your flight to Libreville.
  • Upon arrival in Libreville, meet our driver, who will transfer you to the hotel.
  • Spend the remaining hours at leisure.

Day 05

Boat to Baie des Tortues and Transfer to Pongara

  • After breakfast, you will drive to Marina Michel Marine.
  • Take a one-hour boat ride to Baie des Tortues from the pier on the right.
  • Enjoy the refreshing breeze in the air during the journey.
  • Later, proceed to Pongara National Park.
  • Arrive in the late afternoon and check in to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. An optional evening game drive will be available.

Day 06

Wildlife Immersion in Pongara National Park

  • Spend the two days immersing yourself in wildlife experiences at the heart of Pongara National Park.
  • Engage in unlimited bush walks, boat safaris, and whale-watching activities.
  • Explore the turtle patrol, an essential part of visiting the park.

Day 07

Morning Game Trek and Return to Libreville

  • Wake up to a morning game trek, searching for monkeys, sitatungas, crocodiles, and forest elephants.
  • Return to the lodge for breakfast and to rejuvenate after an amazing experience.
  • Check out of the lodge for a transfer to Michel Marine in the afternoon.
  • Board your boat back to Libreville from Michel Marine.
  • Upon arrival, meet our driver, who will drop you off at your accommodation or the airport in Libreville.
  • End of our services.
