The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Antananarivo

Arrival at Antananarivo International Airport, where you will be met and greeted.
Drive from the airport to your hotel in the city centre.

Day 02

Antananarivo to Andasibe Village

7:00 am - Meet at your hotel.
First, travel to Andasibe village, located about 4 hours east of Tana along National Road No. 2.
On the way, there may be a stop at Madagascar Exotic Park, a privately run reserve in Marozevo between Manjakandriana and Moramanga. It is a popular tourist site for seeing different reptiles, butterflies, moths, insects, and more.
Continue to Vakona Forest Lodge, where you can have lunch and enjoy an excursion to meet the lemurs on their own private island.
In the evening, at 6:30 pm, begin a night walk safari at VOIMM, the community park, to look for animals that are active only at night. It is an excellent place to discover the smallest lemurs and other endemic reptiles.

Day 03

Andasibe National Park and Return to Antananarivo

8:00 am - Begin a guided tour through Madagascar's mesmerizing rainforest region.
The main goal is to spot the diverse wildlife that calls this park home, especially the impressive variety of lemurs, with more than five distinct species found here. One remarkable aspect of this national park is its rich diversity of birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. You will also have the opportunity to see the largest lemur, the indri-indri, famous for its powerful vocalizations that can be heard from as far as 4-5 kilometres away.
In the afternoon, drive back to Antananarivo along the same road.

Day 04

Flight to Bekopaka and Tsingy Park Exploration

6:00 am - This morning, you will be picked up from your hotel for your private flight to Bekopaka village.
The flight takes about 2 hours. After landing in Bekopaka village, 4x4 vehicles will meet you and drive for about 1 hour to explore the Big Tsingy. This park is ranked among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The visit takes at least 4 hours with an experienced local guide. It is challenging, so bring good walking shoes and be ready for climbing and hiking. In the afternoon, enjoy a 1 to 1.5-hour visit to discover the Small Tsingy and its sunset spot.

Day 05

Bekopaka to Morondava via Belo sur Tsiribihina

Distance: 280 km - Drive duration: 6 hours - Road condition: Off-road
Early morning breakfast at the hotel at 7:00 am.
Depart to begin a 3-hour off-road journey to Belo sur Tsiribihina.
From there, take a ferry to Tsimafana and continue along a bumpy, dusty road for another 3 hours until reaching Morondava. On the way, there will be an opportunity to witness the stunning sunset at the renowned Avenue of the Baobabs. Arrival in Morondava is in the late afternoon, followed by a transfer to the hotel for a comfortable stay.

Day 06

Flight from Morondava to Anjajavy Lodge Reserve

Check-in: 6:30 am - Arrival at 8:30 am / 10:00 am
Transfer to the airport and fly to the Anjajavy Peninsula, located in the northwest of the island.
On arrival, transfer to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. This is a true corner of paradise in a quiet private area, offering a peaceful stay with a blend of luxury and wildlife experiences.

Day 07

Explore the Forests and Activities of Anjajavy

The Anjajavy forest in Madagascar is a haven for wildlife, with a biodiverse range of creatures calling it home. From chameleons and frogs to lemurs, this natural habitat offers a unique opportunity to explore and encounter these species. With more than five species of lemurs to be found, visitors can easily spot them during walks or even from the comfort of their villa.
The reserve also offers various activities for guests to enjoy, from traversing the baobab forest and exploring the tsingy labyrinth to hiking along cliff paths and joining guided birdwatching trips.

Today is a free day at your leisure to discover the hidden gems of this paradise area.

Day 09

Flight Back to Antananarivo and Departure

6:00 am - Depart for the lodge airstrip and fly to Antananarivo.
Another car with a driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel.
Visit the Queen's Palace and shop for souvenirs to bring home if interested.
Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure before being dropped back at the airport for your journey home.
Our services end after drop-off at the main international airport.

Be prepared:

While our intention is to follow the day-to-day route, a degree of flexibility is required to realise the itinerary. Some excursions, and therefore timings, are weather- and tide-dependent, so a positive attitude towards a flexible approach will make this a rich, fulfilling, and rewarding experience. In Madagascar's remaining rainforests on the east coast, the weather is wetter and rainier than usual and can be colder than expected. There are also some very long drives on busy paved roads. We guarantee to solve any issues that arise during this tour.
