3-Day Masai Mara Budget Safari with Big Five Game Drives

Pick up from your Nairobi hotel early in the morning after breakfast, or from the airport, and depart for Masai Mara Game Reserve. Drive down into the floor of the Rift Valley on a scenic journey to Kenya's premier game reserve in your own private safari vehicle.

Stop briefly en route at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for stunning views of what is considered the world's largest valley. Continue to Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch at your camp or lodge of stay.

Later in the afternoon, proceed for an afternoon game drive in the reserve until sunset. The game drive begins at about 3:30 pm and offers a chance to spot the unrivaled wildlife of the park.

The distance covered is about 260 km, with an approximate transit time of 5 1/2 hours. Return by about 6:30 pm for dinner and your overnight stay at the camp.

Spend a full day in Masai Mara discovering the great land of the Maasai Mara plains. You will enjoy two game drives today, one in the morning and the other in the late afternoon after lunch.

As your safari is private, your game drive timings are flexible, which is especially useful if you are traveling with children or are on a honeymoon.

You may also choose to have a full-day game drive instead. During the day, you will enjoy a picnic lunch with the hippos and crocodiles at the Hippo Pool.
