3-Day Transylvania Small Group Tour with Brașov, Sibiu and Sighișoara

In the morning, around 9:00 AM, we will organize pick-up from hotels or other addresses located in the central part of Bucharest.

Then we will travel toward Transylvania, crossing the scenic Carpathian Mountains through the beautiful Prahova Valley. In Sinaia, we will visit Peleș Castle, the former summer residence of the kings of Romania. It was one of the most modern castles at the time of its construction and is considered one of the nicest castles to visit in Europe.

End the day in Brașov with a visit to the medieval center of Brașov. Enjoy a walking tour in the Old Town of Brașov, a place with a long history dating back to 1235. The main sites are Council Square, the Black Church, the White and Black Towers, Weaver's Bastion, Ecaterina's Gate, St. Nicholas Church, Rope Street, and more. Brașov is a great base to use while visiting Transylvania.

Breakfast. Depart from Brașov to explore the Saxon (German) heritage of Transylvania.

We will visit Sighișoara (UNESCO), also called "the Pearl of Transylvania." The city has its origins in the 12th-13th centuries and is the best-preserved medieval town in Transylvania. Its Renaissance-style architecture, colourful houses, narrow streets, towers, and medieval walls create the charm of this amazing place. The Church on the Hill and the Clock Tower are the most important buildings.

Along the route, we will pass charming old villages and admire many fortresses and old churches such as Feldioara (Marienburg), Rupea, Saschiz, Mediaș, Slimnic, and others.

In the afternoon, we will drive to Sibiu, one of the oldest and biggest medieval towns in Transylvania and a former capital of this region. We will have a walking tour of Sibiu's Old District. The city is reminiscent of old European cities and was founded in 1190, later growing into the chief city of the Transylvanian Saxons. Highlights include the Big Square, the Small Square, the Staircase Tower, the Liar's Bridge, the Evangelical, Catholic, and Orthodox cathedrals, as well as the medieval walls and fortifications.

Return to Brașov. Accommodation in a 3-star hotel located in the historic town.

Breakfast. In the morning, we will visit the famous Bran Castle. Also called Dracula's Castle, it gained its fame from the Dracula legend. The first documents about Bran Castle appeared in 1377. After the Bran Castle visit, you can spend some time shopping for souvenirs.

Next, we will drive to Prejmer Fortified Church (UNESCO), one of the best-preserved examples of its kind and a fine sample of this unique religious and defensive structure, which can only be seen in Transylvania.

Drive toward Bucharest, where we will arrive around 4:00 PM.

Drop-off at the airport or at a hotel in the central part of Bucharest.
