Temples, Huacas and Chan Chan

  • Departure times: 09:00 am / 4:00 pm
  • Visit the Temples of the Sun and the Moon:

    • The religious center of the Moche culture, developed between 100 and 900 AD.
    • This archaeological complex showcases two large flat-topped pyramids called huacas.
  • Drive north of Trujillo to visit Huaca Dragon:

    • Also known as Huaca Arco Iris (Rainbow Pyramid).
    • It belongs to the Chimu culture.
  • Visit the ancient fishing village of Huanchaco:

    • Enjoy a seafood lunch.
    • Huanchaco is one of the most famous beaches in Peru.
    • Traditional fishing boats called caballitos de totora are still in use today.
  • Visit Chan Chan:

    • The largest adobe city in America.
    • Built by the Chimu civilization.

El Brujo and Magdalena de Cao

  • Departure: 09:00 am
  • Drive to Chicama Valley, about 60 km north of Trujillo, to visit El Brujo:

    • Another complex of the Moche civilization.
    • Archaeological excavations began here in 1990.
    • Discover the Woman of Cao, a 1,500-year-old tattooed female mummy.
  • Visit the village of Magdalena de Cao:

    • Taste a traditional drink fermented underground for 1 to 2 years called
