Day 01

Antananarivo to Antsirabe through the Highlands

• The journey begins on National Road 7 towards Antsirabe, the colonial city rich in history and diverse culture.
• Discover the landscapes of the highlands and the life of the people along the road.
• Overnight: Royal Palace

Day 02

Antsirabe to Miandrivazo across Western Landscapes

• From this day, we head west across the island. A long road awaits you, but the different landscapes and scenes of daily life will make you forget the journey.
• Overnight: Princesse du Tsiribihina

Day 03

Tsiribihina River Expedition Begins

• 1st day of river expedition.
• After breakfast, we drive about 2 hours to reach the river for a full day of river expedition offering wonderful sights: wildlife, landscapes, and local people.
• Overnight: Bivouac

Day 04

Second Day on the River

• 2nd day of river expedition.
• You continue the river cruise, discovering the fantastic landscapes of western Madagascar. Lemurs, birds, waterfalls, and others may be seen during the cruise.
• Overnight: Bivouac

Day 05

Final River Cruise and Transfer to Bekopaka

• This is the last day of the river cruise. After breakfast, you start the day by boat for about 3 to 4 hours, then meet the car and drive through small villages on a bumpy and dusty road to reach Bekopaka village, close to the national park.
• Overnight: Olympe de Bemaraha

Day 06

Small Tsingy and the Manambolo Gorge

• First day in Bekopaka: you start at the Manambolo Gorge, near the village, to discover these cathedrals of limestone rocks with sharp points, dotted with dense vegetation and inhabited by endemic fauna. Then continue to the Small Tsingy, the preambles of the Big Tsingy.
• Overnight: Olympe de Bemaraha

Day 07

Full-Day Exploration of the Big Tsingy

• We drive about 2 hours to the Big Tsingy entrance: the limestone forest.
• The Tsingy are emblematic rock formations of Madagascar. There are several types, but all are made up of limestone deposits, shells, and fossils. You have a full day to discover more about them.
• Overnight: Olympe de Bemaraha

Day 08

Bekopaka to Kirindy with a Nocturnal Forest Walk

• We leave Bekopaka and drive on the bumpy and dusty road to reach Kirindy village. On the way, we cross 2 rivers on a ferry.
• Once arrived, a nocturnal walk is scheduled to discover nocturnal animals inside this forest, and if fossas are around, you may see them.
• Overnight: Relais de Kirindy

Day 09

Kirindy Forest, Baobabs, and Sunset in Morondava

• To escape the heat, we start early with a visit inside Kirindy Forest for different endemic plants and animals. Then, in Kirindy village, you will see some big baobabs and the sacred baobab.
• After lunch there, continue to Morondava, but stop at the Avenue of the Baobabs for more feeling and sunset.
• Overnight: Vezo Beach Hotel

Day 10

Morondava to Antananarivo

• Last day of the trip. A late wake-up is possible after the long adventure, but depending on the flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight to Tana.
