2-Day Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara Safari from Arusha or Moshi

• Pick up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha and drive to Ngorongoro Crater for game drives.

• This is one of the best places in Tanzania to see black rhinos and a pride of lions, including the magnificent black-maned males. There are also lots of colourful flamingoes and a variety of water birds. Other game you may see includes leopard, cheetah, hyena, other members of the antelope family, and small mammals.

• In the late afternoon, drive to St. Catherine Monastery.

Overnight at St. Catherine Monastery (with lunch, dinner & breakfast) or similar.

• After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, which takes about 2 hours.

• As you approach from the east, the Rift Valley escarpment looms on the horizon, forming an impressive backdrop to the lake. In the tall trees of the groundwater forest, monkeys leap from branch to branch, and elephants stand in the shade of acacia on the escarpment. Other animals frequently seen include zebras, impalas, monkeys, giraffes, buffalos, and hippos.

• In the afternoon, transfer back to your hotel in Arusha, Moshi, or to the airport.
