Embark on a scenic journey to explore Lüderitz, one of Namibia's two harbour towns. Enjoy a catamaran trip through the bay past Angra Point, Sturmvogel Bay, Shearwater Bay, and Diaz Point to Halifax Island, where you may encounter the endemic Heaviside's dolphin, Cape fur seals, and various seabirds, including the African penguin. Day 01

Catamaran Cruise to Halifax Island and Guided Walk in Lüderitz

  • Meet at the Lüderitz Waterfront Jetty at 7:30.
  • The tour begins with a 2.5-hour catamaran trip in the bay to Halifax Island. Boarding takes place at the Waterfront Jetty.
  • The catamaran departs at 8:00, heading west past Angra Point, Sturmvogel Bay, Shearwater Bay, and Diaz Point before reaching Halifax Island. The island is one of the last few places where the African penguin is still found.
  • Among the marine life that may be observed are the endemic Heaviside's dolphin, Cape gannet, Cape fur seal, as well as a variety of seabirds and, occasionally, the humpback whale. A colony of Cape fur seals can be found on a small island at Diaz Point.
  • On board, an experienced sailor provides information and answers all related questions.
  • After the boat trip, the tour continues with a guided walking tour through the town.
