8-Day Senegal and The Gambia Tour with Lompoul Desert and Saloum Delta

Please bring your passport. On Day 1, enjoy a Dakar city tour and a day trip to Gorée Island. We will pick you up at 9:00 AM from your accommodation. The 3-hour tour covers Dakar's highlights, including Independence Square, the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral, the Central Markets, the African Renaissance Monument, the Mosque of Divinity, and the West and East Corniche. If possible, we will also visit the Museum of Black Civilization.

Depart from Pink Lake and continue on a 5-hour drive with a lunch break if needed. Upon arrival in St. Louis, check in at your hotel and enjoy free time for the rest of the day until the following day.

After breakfast, depart for a 2-hour horse-drawn carriage tour of Saint Louis. Enjoy lunch before departure, followed by a 1.5-hour drive to Lompoul. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and relax with free time until 5:00 PM. Later, enjoy a 15-minute camel ride, watch the sunset, experience drum and dance, and have dinner with a desert nightlight. End of the day.

Visit Touba Mosque and continue to Toubacouta for the night. Have breakfast at 8:00 AM and depart at 9:00 AM. Drive for 2 hours to Touba and spend 1 hour visiting the mosque. Then continue with a 2.5-hour drive to Toubacouta, with lunch included. Check in and enjoy free time for the rest of the day until the following day.

1. Visit the lion at the Fathala Reserve before crossing the border into The Gambia. It is a 20-minute drive from the Fathala Reserve and a 30-minute walk to the lion. After that, continue with a 10-minute drive to the border crossing between Senegal and The Gambia. Then drive for 1.5 hours to the Jufureh Museum and Kunta Kinteh, with the visit taking approximately 2 hours. After the drive, there is a 40-minute walk to the ferry. Check in and enjoy free time for the rest of the day until the following day.

After breakfast at 10:00 AM, visit the highlights of The Gambia around Serekunda, Banjul, Bakau, and Senegambia. The tour includes the National Museum of The Gambia, Arch Kachikali Crocodile Pool, Monkey Forest Park, and the fishing port of Tanji, Abu. The visit lasts about 5 hours.

Overnight stay in the Saloum Delta. After breakfast, depart by car to the ferry for a 40-minute crossing, followed by a 5-hour drive. Check in at your hotel and enjoy free time for the rest of the day until the following day.

On the last day, explore the Saloum Delta. After breakfast, take a boat trip through the magnificent mangroves, visit the village of Mar Lodj, and stop at the great baobab tree in Senegal and the Joal Fadiouth seashell site.
