Itinerary
-
Day 1: Touchdown in Tanzania
- African safari begins at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania. You will meet with Matukio Adventures representative and transfer to your hotel in Arusha town for an overnight stay.
Meals: Bed and Breakfast
Accommodation: Mount Meru Hotel -
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park
- We pick you up from your hotel and drive to Lake Manyara. The park derived its name from the Maasai word “manyara, " which is the Swahili name for the plant Euphorbia tirucalli. The Maasai use this plant to grow livestock stockades, which mature into a highly durable stockproof hedge.
- The Great Rift Valley is part of a fault in the earth’s crust, which stretches 8,000 kilometres (4,971 miles) from Turkey to the mouth of the Zambezi River in Mozambique. The fault is so massive that when astronauts landed on the moon, the Rift Valley was clearly visible to them.
Meals: Lunch and Dinner
Accommodation: Tloma Lodge
-
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
- After breakfast, we proceed to Serengeti, Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park and famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebras and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers a remarkable game-viewing experience in Africa.
- Note: Hot Air Balloon Per Person Cost - $540 (this is an option; prices are separate from the total price above)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Accommodation: Shuhudia Adventures Camp Serengeti -
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
- After breakfast, we proceed to the Central part of Serengeti. This park is well-known for its healthy stock of resident wildlife, particularly the "big five", named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters: Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffaloes, and Rhinos.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Accommodation: Shuhudia Adventures Camp Serengeti -
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
- We start with an early morning game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, and various species of birds. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is an extensive highland area along the eastern arm of the Rift Valley, with the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point.

Accommodation: Ngorongoro Endoro Lodge -
Day 6: Lake Eyasi tour trip (Hadzabe, Datoga)

The Hadza, or Hadzabe, are an indigenous ethnic group in north-central Tanzania. They live in Lake Eyasi in the central Rift Valley and the neighbouring Serengeti Plateau. The Hadza are just under 1,000 in population, living as hunter-gatherers, among the last hunter-gatherers in the world.

Day 7: Tarangire National Park
- One of the largest national parks in Tanzania, located in the Manyara region, this place is characterized by the large herds of elephants, tree-climbing lions, and the fascinating baobab trees, also called the Tree of Life, for the almost mythical powers that some cultures attach to it. This park is especially known for the Tarangire River, which flows all year round and is the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons.
