Description
Explore Oman’s mountains in this 8-hour tour! From Muscat to Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar (the Green Mountain), you will travel by climate-controlled 4WD. Then, you will be whisked around Nizwa, Oman’s old capital, as well as enjoy the lovely hike in the mountain between the plantation of pomegranate trees and finish it with a nice walk in the irrigation system (Falaj) at the gate of the mountain (Berkat Almouz).

Full Day Nizwa/Jebel Akhdar
- At 08:30 am, we will depart Muscat for Nizwa, Oman's old capital. The driving time will be around one and a half hours.
- Once arriving at Nizwa, we will start with Nizwa Souq, The site of one of the oldest souks in the country; this extensive marketplace is mainly dedicated to fruit and vegetables, meat and fish, all of which are housed in separate blocks behind the great.
- Then, we will be visiting the famous Nizwa Fortress. Today, the fort is a museum showcasing the fort's history and surrounding area. Walking through the fortress, you can see amazing views of the ancient town and the nearby mountains. This impressive fortress was a base used in the military to hold off the hardest attacks and sieges.
- After that, driving to the mountain gate (Birkat Al Mouze) is located at the foothills of Jabal Akhdar, so everyone going to Jabal Akhdar ends up passing through must pass to go through.
- Within this village is the Irrigation System of Al Kattmyn, one of the five irrigation systems heritage by UNESCO. From there, we go up to Jebel Akhdar. Also known as the Green Mountain, Jebel Akhdar houses many fruit plantations and rose gardens. Take the time to walk through the hills and cherish the valley views.
- Then, it will be time to go to the Jebel Akhdar, or the green mountain, part of the Al Hajar Mountains range in the Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate of Oman. It rises to a height of 2,600 m above sea level.
