The itinerary

Day 01

Huaraz to Lake Churup Trek and Return

• Depart from Huaraz early in the morning.

• Pass by the beautiful Unchus and Llupa villages.

• Start the Pitec trek.

• From Pitec, continue towards Lake Churup, enjoying highland vegetation such as Quenual trees and marvellous views along the way.

• Witness huge peaks like Mount Huamashraju, the Cordillera Negra, as well as the imposing Mount Churup.

• See melting glaciers that give rise to stunning, mighty cascades and rivers running through deep valleys.

• Hike for 3 hours until you reach Lake Churup at 4480 m.

• Spend an hour there to have lunch, enjoy the view, and take scenic pictures.

• Walk back down to the parking site.

• Return to Huaraz and end the tour.
