Giza Pyramids, Sakkara Step Pyramid and Ancient Memphis
- Your Giza Pyramids tour starts at 8:00 am with pickup from your hotel in either Cairo or Giza by your tour guide.
- Your tour begins with your first stop at the Giza Pyramids.
- You will see the great pyramids of Giza - Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos.
- Then you will visit the Valley Temple, where the priests mummified the dead body of King Chephren, owner of the second pyramid on the Giza Plateau.
- You can also take a close-up look at the Sphinx, the legendary guardian that stands by the massive funerary complex with its lion body and the head of King Chephren.
- The first half of the tour will last about 2.5 hours.
- You will enjoy lunch, which is included, at a local restaurant. Each person will receive a full meal; however, beverages are not included. Lunch will last about 1 hour.
- After lunch, continue your day tour to Sakkara, located about 16.5 miles (27 km) southwest of Cairo. Here, you will visit the Step Pyramid built for King Zoser. It is considered an essential part of the pyramid evolution process, from the simple mastaba to its widely known form. This portion of the tour will last about 2 hours.
- Then continue your day tour to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, where the colossal statue of Ramses II and the Great Alabaster Sphinx are located. This city dates back to 3100 B.C. You will spend about 1 hour here.
- Your visit to the ancient capital of Egypt ends your tour, and you will be taken back to your hotel.
