Nairobi to Masai Mara via the Great Rift Valley
- Today, we depart for Masai Mara after breakfast at 8:00 am. Drive past Nairobi to the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley, descend the escarpment, and continue via Narok to Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. After lunch, proceed for an afternoon game drive until sunset. The Mara is enormous and famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration, and it is home to the Big Five: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino.
- Note that Masai Mara is one of the greatest wildernesses in the world. Large mammals found here are varied and easy to see. Residents among them are the Masai giraffe, eland, and thousands of antelopes, zebra, topi, and both Thomson's and Grant's gazelles.
- Later, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
