Nagarkot Sunrise and Hike to Changu Narayan
- Drive from Kathmandu to Nagarkot early in the morning for the sunrise.
- Following the sunrise spectacle, relish breakfast or tea/coffee at a Nagarkot hotel before embarking on a hike toward Changu Narayan, an ancient Hindu temple and UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled in the Kathmandu Valley. This temple, devoted to Lord Vishnu, boasts exquisite stone carvings, sculptures, and intricate architecture. Spend ample time exploring the temple complex and revel in the awe-inspiring vistas of the surrounding hills and valleys. Upon completion, return to Kathmandu or Bhaktapur.
- The hike meanders through rugged mountain terrain adorned with traditional villages and forests. Accompanied by a private guide providing insightful information, this approximately 12-kilometer journey from Nagarkot to Changu Narayan typically takes 4-5 hours, allowing for stops and pacing preferences. In clear weather, the hike affords stunning views of the Himalayas, hills, and valleys.
