Tirana to Berat via Belsh Lake

  • Meet at the Opera Palace in Tirana city center. Pickup from your location is available for an extra payment.
  • Depart from Tirana at 9:00 and travel toward Berat.
  • On the way, make a short stop in Belsh Town at Belshi Lake. Belsh is the center of historic Dumrea, an area known as one of the most beautiful pearls of the Mediterranean. Belshi also has a model culture house for the development of various activities, including Summer Day, a tradition of the Elbasan area, as well as many other celebrations. It is the lake with the most populated area around it, so a stop here is inevitable to visit the area and see the changes that have taken place in Belsh. A walk along the modern promenade, or a stop at a cafe or restaurant, will let you enjoy the lake panorama in a different way.
  • After visiting Belsh, continue toward the city of Berat. Around noon, arrive in Berat, also known as the city of one-over-one windows. Berat Castle is built on a hill 187 meters high, to the left of the mouth of the Osum River. Initially a proto-urban settlement in the 7th-5th century BC, it later became a fortress city with walls reaching up to 1,400 meters in length and covering an area of 10 hectares. One of the most beautiful, largest, and most important monuments of Albanian history and culture, Berat Castle has a prominent triangular shape and rises on a 187-meter-high hill on the right bank of the Osum River, dominating the valley.
  • After visiting Berat Castle, spend some time on Berat Avenue and have lunch there.
  • Around 5:00 pm, depart from Berat and return to Tirana, arriving at about 7:00 pm to conclude the trip.
