Full-Day Punta del Este Coast and Landmarks Tour
- Pick up from your hotel or the port in Montevideo and drive towards Punta del Este. This destination includes 32 km of coastline between Punta Ballena and Manantiales.
- Begin the day at Punta Ballena, a rocky high point that juts into the sea and offers spectacular views on both sides. The famous Hotel Casapueblo Museum was built by the artist Carlos Páez Vilaró.
- Continue to the small beach and village of Las Grutas, beneath the slope and cliffs. It feels like a world apart, isolated from the surrounding environment, with hidden coves and caves.
- Walk along the boulevard of Mansa Beach with its wooden walkways and enjoy a relaxing time. You will also enter the residential neighbourhoods nearby.
- Proceed to visit the historic places of the town, such as the Lighthouse and the Candelaria Church, as well as its shopping centre, the famous Gorlero Avenue, Rambla Circunvalación, and Punta de la Salina, which separates the Río de la Plata from the Atlantic Ocean and marks the southernmost point of the country.
- Walk along the port with its luxurious yachts and sailboats, alongside artisanal fishermen returning from the sea to sell their catch. Large sea lions often gather by the pier waiting for leftover fish, just a few metres from visitors, almost as if they were posing for a photo.
- Visit Brava Beach and The Fingers. The first stop here is the famous Los Dedos sculpture, a mandatory stop for all visitors.
- Then tour the entire boulevard and the adjacent neighbourhoods, such as San Rafael and Rincón del Indio, making as many stops as you like.
- Cross the Maldonado Stream via the famous undulating bridge and visit the small beaches, shopping centres, and narrow streets.
- After all this, if there is still time and you wish, continue another 20 km east to José Ignacio, a quaint village that has become very famous. Drop off at your hotel or the port.
