Dubai historical district Walking Tour
- Embark on a captivating journey through the heart of Al Seef, where the old and the new converge in a tapestry of cultural richness and modern innovation. Our walking tour unfolds amidst the timeless charm of Al Seef Heritage Hotel, a beautifully preserved gem that seamlessly blends tradition with contemporary luxury. The Smart Police Station stands as a testament to Dubai's commitment to safety through cutting-edge technology. Savour the authentic flavours of Dubai at traditional restaurants lining the streets, and explore vibrant souvenir shops for mementoes that capture the spirit of this historic neighbourhood. As we transition to the new part of Al Seef, witness the city's progress reflected in the striking architecture of modern buildings, creating a harmonious blend of heritage and innovation.
- Next, discover Al Fahidi's historical neighbourhood and find out what life in Old Dubai was like during the mid-19th century. In this neighbourhood, we will be visiting Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Centre for Cultural Understanding. Get information about the Coins Museum, Coffee Museum and Arabian Tea House.
- Experience the historic waters of Dubai Creek; Al Shindagha Museum tells the proud story of the nation’s past and reverent traditions. The museum’s 'Dubai Creek: Birth of a City' is a state-of-the-art multimedia experience that guides visitors through the area’s dramatic development over centuries. Our carefully curated tour features interactive videos, touch displays, photographs and artefacts so visitors can gain insight into what it was like for Emiratis to raise a family by the waterways and how maritime trade affected their livelihoods.
- You will also take an abra boat, 'abra' means “to cross” in Arabic and runs every few minutes throughout the day between four stations along Dubai Creek. The first route goes from Deira Old Souk Abra Station (near the Spice Souk) to Bur Dubai Abra Station (west of the Textile Souk).
- We will also be visiting the Old Souk in Dubai, nestled along the historic Dubai Creek, which exudes an ancient charm with its narrow alleys and bustling market stalls. Just a short boat ride away, the Textile Souk beckons with vibrant fabrics and intricate patterns, inviting visitors to explore a kaleidoscope of colours and textures in the heart of Old Dubai. Discover new flavours and recipes as you explore the traditional spice market in Dubai's heritage area at the Spice Souk. Walk through the glittering bazaar to find designs from around the world crafted with a variety of carats. We make our way to a glimpse of the world's largest ring. The Najmat Taiba, or Star of Taiba, is estimated to cost $3 million and is displayed in the Gold Souk.
