The itinerary

Day 01

Arusha to Momela Gate and Trek to Miriakamba Hut

Begin your 4-day Mount Meru adventure with Jairos Tours as we depart from Arusha in the early morning. Our journey takes us to Mount Meru National Park, where the excitement begins. Upon reaching Momela Gate, we'll complete the necessary park registration, and you'll have the pleasure of meeting our experienced guides and dedicated porters who will accompany you on this incredible journey.
The trek commences through the enchanting Montane Forest, a captivating introduction to the diverse ecosystems you'll encounter. Keep your eyes peeled for the park's resident wildlife and marvel at the lush greenery surrounding you. As the day unfolds, we'll make our way to Miriakamba Hut, situated at an elevation of 2,514 meters. Here, you'll enjoy a hearty dinner and a well-deserved rest, recharging for the ascent that lies ahead.

Day 02

Trek from Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

After a nourishing breakfast, we continue our trek towards Saddle Hut, a higher-altitude destination at 3,570 meters. The landscape gradually transforms from forested terrain into heather and moorland, offering a unique and ever-changing backdrop to your journey. Along the way, catch glimpses of Mount Meru's majestic summit, a constant source of inspiration.
Upon arriving at Saddle Hut, you'll have the opportunity to relax and acclimatize to the altitude. Our team will prepare a delicious dinner, ensuring you're well-fueled for the adventures that await.

Day 03

Summit Socialist Peak and Descend to Miriakamba Hut

Today is the day you've been waiting for - summit day. An early start, typically around midnight, is essential to begin the challenging ascent to the summit of Mount Meru, known as Socialist Peak, standing tall at 4,566 meters. Trekking through rocky terrain and alpine desert, you'll be captivated by the unparalleled beauty of the night sky and the awe-inspiring surroundings.
As the sun begins to rise, you'll be treated to a breathtaking panorama of Kilimanjaro and the surrounding landscapes. After savoring this unforgettable moment, we'll descend back to Saddle Hut for a brief rest and a well-deserved breakfast. The journey continues, taking you down to Miriakamba Hut, where you'll spend your final night amidst the tranquility of the mountains.

Day 04

Descend to Momela Gate and Return to Arusha

Following breakfast, we commence the descent through the Montane Forest, heading back to Momela Gate. Here, you'll receive your well-earned summit certificates, a testament to your remarkable accomplishment. Enjoy a delicious lunch before we embark on the return journey to Arusha, where you can reflect on the extraordinary adventure you've just undertaken.
