The journey
Embark on a 3-day trek to Mount Meru, starting at Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. Encounter wildlife, a waterfall, and black and white colobus monkeys as you hike through the mountain forest. Summit Mount Meru on Day 3 for stunning views of Kilimanjaro and the Rift Valley, then descend along a dramatic narrow ridge that is considered one of the most exhilarating walks in Africa.
In the early morning, as you reach the top, you will see an astonishing sunrise over the peak of Kilimanjaro.

Day by day
Drive to the gate and complete the park entry formalities. After securing your permit, you will be introduced to the crew and begin your trek to Miriakamba. The trail is easy on this day.
Trekking time: 3-4 hours. Overnight: Miriakamba Hut (2500 m).
After breakfast, begin the steep trek to Saddle Huts. Along the way, you will pass through forest glades and giant heather via Elephant Ridge. An optional summit to Little Meru can be done in the afternoon.
Trekking time: 3-4 hours. Overnight: Saddle Hut (3500 m).
In the midnight hours, your summit attempt will begin from Saddle. In the early morning, as you reach the top, you will see an astonishing sunrise over the peak of Kilimanjaro.
After the summit, descend back to the gate through Miriakamba and Buffalo Glade. Your transport will be available for pickup.
Trekking time: 3-4 hours. Summit: 4570 m.
