Day 01

Pamukkale Travertines and Ancient Hierapolis

After meeting the guide at a pre-decided time and place, visit:
- Pamukkale Travertines, natural thermal pools surrounded by white limestone, accessed by a walk over rough rocks.
- Hierapolis Theatre, built in the second century AD under the Roman Emperor Hadrian during a period of extensive rebuilding following a devastating earthquake in 60 AD. It was later renovated under Septimus Severus (193-211 AD).
- Hierapolis Necropolis, Gate of Domitianus, Agora, Temple of Apollon, Nympheion, Antique Pool, and
- Hierapolis Indoor Museum, an archaeology museum featuring halls with excavated tombs and statues, plus a gallery of small artifacts.
